I will be getting a silver plan from Aetna Health inc. called the Coventry Silver $10 Copay 2750 Duke Medicine. It has a $304.00 monthly payment with a $2750 deductible with a maximum out of pocket of $6450. I was looking for a lower deductible so my out of pocket costs in the case of an accident could be minimized. I will not be insuring for dental, optical, or disability insurance, as my family has no history of disability, my vision has been consistently 20/20 but I can change my mind if I feel like things are starting to change. My teeth are also very strong, and anything short of them getting knocked out I will be fine. I think insurance is a good idea if you feel you are susceptible to whatever hardship it protects you from financially. Obviously not having insurance is a gamble, but if you feel like your odds are good I think you should roll the dice. I understand you can never foresee what life will throw at you, and insurance acts as a safety net to that, but at $30,000 a year I don't think I have enough income to afford all of those nets.
